Robin Ledbetter

Robin Franklin Ledbetter passed away and went to be with the Lord Jesus on September 14, 2011, at the age of 84 years.

He was born on July 6, 1927 in Hardin County, Ill., near Karbers Ridge, the youngest son of Milas Ledbetter and Dora Jane Ledbetter nee Carnett. He taught at Neoga High School. He completed a Master's degree and subsequently an Advanced Certificate from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. He was the principal of Equality High School for several years and was later the superintendent of North Wamac School in Wamac, Ill.

He was preceded in death by his beloved parents and beloved brother Carl Ledbetter.

Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Patsy Joyce, nee Folks, Ledbetter, whom he married on July 24, 1960; a daughter, Janee Marie Dobson nee Ledbetter, son-in-law Wallace Dobson of Urbana, Ill., and grandson Noah Dobson of Urbana, Ill.; a son, Frank Robin Ledbetter, Attorney at Law (principal of Ledbetter Law Firm, LLC in St. Louis, Missouri), daughter-in-law, Rosaleen Mary Ledbetter nee Baggot, granddaughter Marrisa Joy Ledbetter, and granddaughter, Veronica Rose Ledbetter of Ladue, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Berneice Herriott of Champaign, Ill.; and a niece Carol Anne (Rob) McNamara of Tulsa, Okla.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011, at Reed Funeral Chapel in Harrisburg, Ill., with the Rev. Ronald Ledbetter and the Rev. Arthur Austin, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Good Hope Cemetery, Karbers Ridge, Ill. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Harrisburg American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and National Guard.
