Roland Odenwald Obituary
Roland A. Odenwald, Sr., 81, of Belleville, Ill., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010, in his home.
Blessed with enormous energy and health for 80 years, Mr. Odenwald began recycling used oil in the 1960's. He was so proud that his two sons chose to work with him and make the company he founded, Gateway Petroleum, a family endeavor.
He enjoyed water-skiing, boating, tennis, and singing. He was a lifetime fan of the baseball Cardinals and the St. Louis Symphony.
He will be missed and remembered lovingly by his family, friends and former employees.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Karl G. Odenwald and Anna Kunst; his siblings and lifelong friends, Karl Odenwald, Sr. and Gloria Flynn Jung.
Surviving are his three children, Roland (Kimberly) Odenwald Jr., Stephen (Kathleen) Odenwald and Kristine Dees; and four beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Matthew, and Stephanie Odenwald, and Charles Dees.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor can be sent to St. Louis Children's Hospital, P.O. Box 955423, St. Louis, Mo. 63195-5423 or to the St. Louis Symphony, 314-286-4132.
Service: No services will be held at Mr. Odenwald's request.

Dear Oldenwald Family,
I loved your Dad and your family. He always made me feel so welcomed and loved. I still have fond memories of all my summers on Oliver Lee Dr. My prayers are with all of you, I know he is in good hands.

Dear Family,
We enjoyed having Roland as our friend. He was a very nice man and the world was a better place having him in it. We have great memories of his visits to the lake and he was a wonderful neighbor.
