Rory Hamilton Obituary
Rory J. Hamilton, 37, of Belleville, Ill., born Dec. 23, 1968, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Monday, May 22, 2006, in Belleville, Ill.
Rory loved spending time with his children, he enjoyed playing darts, horseshoes, and fishing. He was a kind man with a beautiful smile and sparkling eyes. He will be sadly missed by many.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Emmett E. and Katherine, nee Kolb, Hamilton; stepmother, Ruth Ann, nee Strong, Hamilton, an uncle, Emmett K. Hamilton; maternal grandmother, Maxine A. Blazinic and aunt Jeanie, nee Blazinic, Atkinson.
Surviving are his children, Jared and Morgan Hamilton of Belleville, Ill.; his father, Ernie Hamilton of Fairview Heights, Ill., his mother, Kitty, nee Blazinic, Gogol of Hazelwood, Mo.; three sisters, Kelly (Larry) Christensen of Fairview Heights, Ill., Robin (Kevin) Lanman of Fairview Heights, Ill., and twin sister, Angela (Larry) Messina of Fairview Heights, Ill.; also surviving are nieces and nephews, Chad (Tonya) Garcia, Shannah and Cody Garcia, Alayna Hogan (Mark Lightle), Lindsey Lanman, Mason, Miranda and Allie Messina; great nieces, Taylor and Tori Garcia, and Hannah Lightle; also numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A private Memorial Service was held May 25, 2006.

Rory I miss you so much! I wish you could’ve met my granddaughters. I have 4 now! Alayna has 2, Hannah 14 almost 15, and Breanna 9-1/2. Lindsey also has 2 daughters. Delilah 2 and Luna 1. They are all so beautiful and such good girls. Smart just like their Uncle Rory! I’m so sad that they never got a chance to meet you and see the wonderful, fun loving person you were. Kevin and I are doing good except for having COVID-19 right now. With you watching over us, I’m sure we’ll be fine. I love you so much! Keep watch over my family! Love always, Robin

Rory, yet another year has past!!!! Boy, how we all miss the good times we always had. I miss your entire family, ( but whatever the reason ) we are no longer friends. David and Morgan are still friends in high school and will officially be seniors. The years have flown by way to fast. You are in my thoughts often and I wish you were still here. All I can say is WOW! How awesome to see the continued love, thoughts and prayers being shared for Rory and to his family. I too think about Rory as much as I do my dad and father-in law who have passed but the memories are always there. I love you all and think about each of you often. Uncle Ernie, Kelly, Robin and that precious sweet little girl Angie. Robin to think that two of our children you and Bonita shared alot of bed rest time 26 years ago talking on the phone, and the two of you got to know each other so well.

Rory, it was 7 years ago yesterday that you left this world. So much has happened in those 7 years that I wish you could have shared with everyone !! Kelly and family, It was so nice to talk with you today, except for you sharing this news of Rory. I am so sorry to hear about this. Rory was just precious to me, as well as Angie. They were both adorable. Life really throws us some curve balls doesn't it? And there is no way to prepare ourselves for such a loss as this. My prayer for your family is to lean into your faith in God. Rory is well now.

Rory, today is our big 40th birthday. I really really miss you. I want so badly to pick up the phone to wish you happy birthday. I love you. You are always on my mind, especially today. I miss you so much. You were the most funny, outgoing, and generous person I know. I will always remember how you had a great talent of singing and dancing. Whenever a new band/singer came out, you would always try to top their dance moves...and you could! You always made up these hilarious jokes that made everyone laugh. And you were so giving. If someone needed a shirt you would give them your own shirt off of your own back! You didn't care, you just wanted them to be happy. I am going to miss you so much, and so will everyone else. Since this happened, it has made me realize how much one person can effect your life. Rory and I went to high school together and worked together at Crossroads furniture, he could sell ice to an eskimo. I truly thought of him as a good friend and will always remember him. I have only known Rory for about four years. I met him through his sister Robin. But in that short time he was the most kindest, gentle person to be around. My husband and I met Rory thru his sister Robin. We immediatley felt like we had known him for years, he was just that easy and comfortable to be around.He always had time to say hello and ask you how you had been. My husband was so impressed with his knowledge of the financial world that he often sought out his opinion whenever he would see him. Having had a recent loss of our own this hit us close to home. My heart aches for the entire family and I know all the good memories will be what gets you thru each day.

I had the privelege of being Rorys friend for 20 years. Rory was one of the greatest people I have ever known. He always put other people first. His laugh, his blowing his hair up, his smile, his gentleness. He loved his children and his family deeply. He always bragged about all of them. To Ernie, you raised a wonderful person and you should be proud of Rory. He accomplished more in 37 years than most people do in a lifetime. When you didnt have anywhere to go on holidays, Rory would always invite you to his familys home and they would always welcome you. Uncle Roro! He was not only my uncle, but someone that I was proud to call my friend. I am so glad that I have so many wonderful memories to hold close to my heart. I will never forget all of the times when I was little that he would give me money to scratch his back, or the times when we would sit around and tell stories about our lives and laugh our heads off, or when we would see who could make up the silliest dance moves to certain songs- he always won! He was never afraid to just be himself. I can still see his smile, and still hear his laugh as we ran through my back yard in the pouring rain a few months ago just to embrace the moment. It's the small things in life that will leave the deepest impressions. He touched the lives of everyone around him! I am blessed to have had such a wonderful person in my life. Rory will be remembered and missed by many!

I know we were all truly saddened & shocked by Rory's death. I'll always remember the fun we had in high school. I think it was our 10 year reunion that he won the "just for men" hair color for the most gray hair. I will continue to keep Ann,their children & extended families in my thoughts & prayers.

Rory was a great friend, actually he was more than a friend he was like a brother. No matter who you were or how he knew you, Rory had the time of day to listen. He had kind words, and funny stories to lighten up your day. I will miss his good sense of humor and genuine love for everyone he knew. Rory will be deeply missed, most of all by his family. There are so many wonderful memories I will always cherish. Like the times when Rory would sing the latest rap song and make up his own words as he went along. Or the cartwheels he did in my front yard when I was a kid. The silly jokes he would tell that he thought were hilarious, but weren't. The times he would ask if he was embarassing me after doing something goofy in public, but was really always making me proud to be his neice. He will never be forgotten and always missed.
