Rose Babinsky

Rose M. Babinsky, 84, of Belleville, Ill., born Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1926, in East St. Louis, Ill., died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Maryville Manor in Maryville, Ill.

Miss Babinsky worked as a seamstress for Martha Manning Dress Factory. After her retirement she helped the elderly with appointments and grocery shopping. She was a member of St. Henry's Catholic Church in Belleville, Ill., and former member of St. Martin of Tours in Washington Park, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Maria, nee Kochanic, Babinsky; sisters, Emily S. Babinsky, Mary Longhi and Anna Zajac; brothers, Joseph Babinsky, Andrew Babinsky and John Babinsky Jr.; infant brothers, George Babinsky and Rudy Babinsky.

Surviving are numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her dearly.

Memorials may be made to the Catholic Urban Program-Food Pantry or in the form of a mass. Condolences may be expressed online at www.kurrusfh.com.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at the Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill. A rosary service will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

Funeral: A funeral procession will leave at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2010, from Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville, Ill., for a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Henry Catholic Church in Belleville, Ill., with Father Kenneth York officiating. Interment will follow at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Belleville, Ill.
