Rose Holtmann

Rose Isabelle Holtmann, 80, of New Baden, Ill., born Feb. 2, 1932, in Aviston, Ill., died Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Aviston Countryside Manor in Aviston, Ill.

Mrs. Holtmann was a homemaker, a former cook for St. Bernard School in Albers, Ill., and dietary tech. at Aviston Countryside Manor. She was a member of St. Bernard Parish and Ladies Sodality and the American Legion Post 1026 Auxiliary in Albers, Ill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rose, nee Rakers, Lampe; two brothers, Anthony Lampe and Benedict Lampe; two sisters, Bernice Von Hatten and Pauline Wolters; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, John Wolters, Laverne Litteken, Eugene Von Hatten, Alice Toennies, Bill Spaeth, Loretta and Cal Schwend, Raymond Holtmann, Cyril Poettker and Ron Huegen.

Surviving are her husband, Clarence C. Holtmann of New Baden, Ill., whom she married on Sept. 20, 1955, in Aviston, Ill.; her children, Jo Ann (Ed) Netemeyer, Daniel (Chris) Holtmann, Dennis (Cindy) Holtmann and Dale (Kim) Holtmann, all of Albers; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; a brother, Ralph (Florence) Lampe of Aviston, Ill.; a sister, Marie Litteken of Charleston, Ill.; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Spaeth of Trenton, Ill., Adeline Holtmann of Germantown, Ill., Dolores Poettker of Breese, Ill., Greg and Dot Holtmann of New Baden, Ill., Ruth Huegen of Trenton, Ill., Adrian and Trudy Toennies of Trenton, Ill., Dolores Lampe of Aviston, Ill., and Dolly Lampe of Breese, Ill.

Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2013, and from 8 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at Hempen Funeral Home in Albers, Ill.

Funeral: Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24, 2013, at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Albers, Ill., with the Rev. Jack Joyce officiating. Burial will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Albers, Ill.
