Fallbrook, California - Roslyn Bernice Rideout nee Schaefer born 7 December 1930 in Belleville Illinois passed away 28 September 2021 in Fallbrook California. Roslyn was the daughter of Royal (Roy) Schaefer and Estella Waigand. She married H Arthur Rideout in Belleville on 20 October 1951 and they had three sons all born in Belleville, Dennis (deceased 1953) David and Bruce. She is survived by her husband and two sons, sister Joanne (Edward) Escobedo and brother-in-law Walter Hubert. She is also survived by granddaughters Noelle (Christian) Portillo, Morgan (John) McClure and Cassius Rideout. Great-grandchildren Victoria McClure, JP McClure and Christian Portillo Jr. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty (Kenneth) Jenkins, Jeanette (J Richard) Yoch, and Darlene Hubert.
She, along with her husband and children, came to California in 1959 and settled in Fallbrook in 1964. She loved the cruise ships and made over 30 cruises. She was always engaged in children's activities, and also served on the School Board. She retired from the School District as secretary to the superintendent.
Burial will be at the Riverside National Cemetery.
