Steve Carson Obituary
Steve Carson, 59, of O'Fallon, Ill., born Feb. 22, 1952, in Belleville, Ill., died unexpectedly, Monday, Oct. 24, 2011, at Memorial Hospital, Belleville, Ill.
Mr. Carson was a concrete finisher and member of the Cement Masons Local 90 for 35 years. Steve was an extreme Chevy and Harley Davidson enthusiast and loved NASCAR, stock cars, and restoring cars with his brother, Rick, his dad, Ken and anyone that was willing to help. He also loved car shows, winning many awards for his vehicles and going to the various swap meets scouting out that specific automobile part or trim piece. Steve was, along with his father and brother, one of the founding members of the Carson Racing Club. Steve also proudly served his country for six years in the Army 892nd Transportation Company.
Surviving are his wife, Kim, nee Stephens,-Carson; his parents, Kenneth and Viola, nee Bova, Carson, all of O'Fallon, Ill.; children, Shawn (Mark) Boles of Oakville, Mo., Jessie Carson of O'Fallon, Ill., Devin Bernard of Belleville, Ill., and Ashlie Klopper of O'Fallon, Ill.; a brother, Rick (Beth) Carson of O'Fallon, Ill.; two sisters, Jane (Joseph) Hogg and Kay (Roger) Ahrens, both of Lebanon, Ill.; grandchildren, Taylor, Garret and Mason Boles, all of Oakville, Mo., Jackie and Carter Carson, both of Mississippi, and Sophia Bernard of Belleville, Ill.; mother-in-law, Marcella Ehret of O'Fallon, Ill.; a brother-in-law, Kirk (Beth) Stephens of Panama City Beach, Fla.; sister-in-law, Kris (John) Langdon of Troy, Ill.; nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and many dear and special friends too numerous to mention.
Memorials in honor of Steve may be made to the Children's Miracle Network. Expressions of sympathy may be made at www.schildknechtfh.com.
Visitation: Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27, 2011, at Schildknecht Funeral Home in O'Fallon, Ill.
Funeral: Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at the funeral home. Burial will be held Friday, Oct. 28, 2011, at O'Fallon City Cemetery, O'Fallon, Ill.

Your life on earth has become full of loving memories of you as a dad and as a grandpa. And I am saddened that you are not here to make even more memories as a great-grandpa. 40 years ago this day, Sept. 1, 1973, at the O'Fallon United Church of Christ, we were joined in marriage. You were 21 and I was 18. We were so young. Just babes. Our daughter, Shawn was both baptized and married in the same church. And even though after 28 years, we ended our time together as husband and wife; our marriage gave us two incredibly, wonderful children - our daughter Shawn and our son Jesse. And they gave us five just as incredibly wonderful, beautiful grandchildren - the twins, Taylor & Garret, Mason, Carter, and Jakie. I am so thankful for the times we had together. I enjoyed and now miss the long talks we would have about our family. Some amusing, some sad, but all fond memories of times together as a family. Our children and grandchildren miss you dearly and feel the loss of their dad and grandpa each and every day. But they have many, many years of happy, loving memories of their lives together with you, and those memories carry them through the sadness of losing you. Your heart was full of love for your children and grandchildren. Their happiness and well- being was always first and foremost in your heart above any and all else. You would still be so proud of them today. Keep watching over them and keep them safe. Let them always feel your presence and love in their hearts.
