Dear Irene,
It has been years (grade school) since we last talked.
My parents told me about your mother's passing back in April.
Hearing the news made me sad and memories of your mother immediately came to mind. Not only did she have a good spirt by nature, but the love and dedication she provided to her family was always top priority. To recall these traits from such a young age shows not only did her personality leave a impact on my life, but I am confident many others without her even knowing she did so.
I am a firm believer the spirits of ones who passed remain with their loved ones. With this being said, I can guarantee your mother is not only looking after you and your father now, but will always be with you in the life ahead.
I write today because I was in Lakeview Memorial visiting a few of my family members who are buried there. As I was walking to I came across your mother's headstone. I promptly stopped and paid my respects to a mother/wife and friend who is currently being missed by many.
I am sorry to hear of your loss.

Dear Jim-
Our Danville days were so very long ago, yet I remember Vivian vividly. How she loved to dance and how we all had such good food and fellowship at the "Greek House", and in my parent's (Christ and Margaret Bartges) dining room.
My brothers and I were very saddened to hear of your loss. Wishing you and your family strength and peace,
Phyllis Bartges Bayles

My memories of her are pleasant and joyful. The one that comes to mind now is not from church or any of the other usual items most will remember. When a teenager I worked in Cahokia. Vlasia and Jim had a business next door. What comes most into my mind is Vlasia making me a Dandee Burger with cheese and the love and kindness that she put in each one. She was one of the most kind and loving women I ever met. A True Christian.

We only had the honor of meeting Vivian at the time of the wedding of her niece, Martha Barduniotis McAuliffe, to our son Emmett McAuliffe but we remember her well because she was not only lovely to look at, but a very sweet, friendly person. We are so sorry for the family and will remember her in our prayers.

Jim,
I was coming home from work when Paul stopped me and gave me the news. We're so sorry to hear about Vivian. Just the few times I got to talk with her I knew I was in the presence of a very special lady. I'll miss seeing her sitting in her chair and enjoying the spring with you. If you need anything we're here for you anytime. Mike, Virginia and Tori

We were taken aback to hear of Vlasia's passing ... we are thankful that we knew her, and we rejoice that our fellowship continues in the Divine Liturgy. Our prayers are with you, with her. Lord Jesus Christ, have mercy on her, and on us! Memory Eternal!
