Belleville, Illinois - Walter R. Beatty, 88, of Belleville, IL, born Friday, December 14, 1934, in Belleville, IL, passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023 at his residence in Belleville, IL.
Walter worked throughout his career and retired from the Defense Mapping Agency (NGA) in St Louis Mo. Walter also was a farmer and co-owner of the Rhein and Beatty Farm near Smithton Ill. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Belleville, IL, Past Master of St. Clair Lodge #24 A.F. & A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies and Ainad Shrine. Wally enjoyed winters in Arizona and summers at his Minnesota lake house.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lizetta "Jane" nee Rhein, Beatty; parents, Walter and Edna T., nee Lembke, Beatty and brother, Harold (Beverly) Beatty.
Surviving are his children, Pamela (Jeffrey) Vogel of Clovis, CA, Michael (Theresa) Beatty of Waterloo, IL and Julie Jane (Ricky) Morton of Belleville, IL; sister, Janet (Keith) Freeman; grandchildren, Timothy Simpson, Julie Simpson, Benjamin (Kelly) Beatty, Eric (Laura) Beatty, Joseph Beatty, Samantha (Chris Muscarella) Morton and Andrew (Caitlin) Morton; great grandchildren, Emma, George, Dennie, Leo, Eli, plus one additional due in May; brother-in-law, Don (Janet) Rhein; many nieces and nephews
