Wilma J. Gaston

Wilma Jo Gaston, 69, of East St. Louis, Ill., born October 28, 1942, in Humboldt, Tenn., transitioned on Wednesday, September 26, 2012.

She received her early education in the Humboldt Tennessee Public Schools and matriculated at Mildred Louise Business College, where she became very efficient at Secretarial/Managerial skills, and further obtained her Master's Degree in 2007 from McKendree University, Lebanon, Illinois.

She was very well-known and respected for her diligence, her political and professional influences. She was also known for her personal dedication to the wellness of the community.

Wilma will live forever remain a blessing in their hearts.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Edward Gaston, her father, Clint Ellis; and a brother, Robert "Bobby" Ellis.

Surviving are her mother, Janie S. Ellis; a daughter, Carole Deniece Gaston-Lyons of Alton, Ill.; her brother, David (Debra) Ellis of House Springs, Mo.; twin sister, Wilma Jean Gillespie (Al Williams) of East St. Louis, Ill.; a sister, Betty Rose Kimbrow of Washington Park, Ill.; a granddaughter, August Thompson; a grandson, Eric Lyons; and a great-granddaughter, Alissa Smith.



Visitation: Friends may call from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at St. Augustine of Hippo Catholic Church, 1500 Columbia Place, East St. Louis, Ill.

Funeral: Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, at St. Augustine of Hippo Catholic Church, East St. Louis, Ill. Interment will be held at Sunset Gardens of Memory, Millstadt, Ill.

You died while I was 8 years old I felt empty because u became a mother to me more then a grandmother...i miss you so much i cry every single day ive been depressed off and on because man dont i miss you and visit ur grave site every chance I have...i wish to just bring u back...we had memories alot...kinda feel so out of my skim not seeing u in person...so much has happened....litterly lost after lost i cant take this pain anymore...like i miss venting,playing under your chair,thinking you where the riches grandma i had because u had a upstairs and a downstairs and had a big ole house and u had....so much and u took care of it wanted to ve like u get taught by you....
