I am going to miss your letters as I truly enjoyed your trips to New Orleans and other places over the years.
I will remember you through memories of the days we were in Hawaii, at Band Camp playing touch football in the sand, or at Kauluwela Park, also playing touch football, but on the grass, every time barefooted. But playing in the band together...that was the best time, for then we were in true harmony. I will miss you, Al, and some day we will meet again. Aloha, good friend.

We'll miss you Al. The kids will never forget you bringing them a special Christmas gift each year, every year of their lives. You were a great neighbor.

Grandpa M. you always called me pal from the time I was small. You taught me how to play the ukulele, speak Hawaiian (my first word in Hawaiian was pow),you taught me how to be gentle and kind to people and animals. You seemed to understand me better than anyone else, you knew I didn't like tomatoes.I remember getting my Albertson's cookie when we came to visit you and grandma with my Albertson's cookie card. I remember playing soccer and frisbee in great-grandma Gaulke's yard on hot summer Sunday's. I remember when you found the snakes under the wood by the path to go to your house.I remember when you woke us up at 3am so we could go to Disneyland and you stood in 3 hour line ups with us to go on rides. You were always taking pictures of everyone. You got to meet your great-grandson before for you left. I will miss you everyday but knowing your in a better place. I miss you and love you. RIP.Grandma I'm sorry I couldn't make it to the funeral but I am thinking about you,my mom and Lissy.

Wendy could not have said it better! Al took care of our "special" group for years and I treasure the memories. I will always remember how much he loved his family & shared that with our little lunch group. Such a special man!!!
