Lynden, Washington - Betty Lorraine Dahlgren, age 89, passed away on Saturday, September 25th, 2021 at the Christian Healthcare Center in Lynden, WA.
Betty was born March 11, 1932 in Nooksack, WA to Charles and Lottie Robinson. She was raised in Nooksack alongside her siblings, Barb and Chuck and graduated from Nooksack Valley High School in 1950. Betty married Richard Dahlgren on December 15, 1950. Together they raised six children on the Goodwin Road in Everson and their dairy farm on Boundary Road in Lynden, where they also raised two grandchildren. Betty was able to return to her childhood home in Nooksack where she lived for her final years.
Betty's house was always welcoming with her beautiful smile and the smell of her wonderful baked goods. She looked forward to each holiday with a full house of family, decorating Christmas cookies and coloring Easter eggs. Betty enjoyed spending time quilting and gifting the blankets to family and friends. Her two passions were her family and baking.
Betty is survived by her children Kathy (Chuck) Sweatland, Mark Dahlgren, Dirk (Lynda) Dahlgren, Julie (Jon) Felix, Eric (Michelle) Dahlgren and two grandchildren she raised as her own, Daryl Dahlgren and Brenda Dahlgren. Betty cherished her 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Barb Burke and Chuck (Kay) Robinson.
Betty was preceded in death by infant daughter, Carol, infant grandson Ricky Joe and son Rick Dahlgren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Christian Healthcare Center for the loving care given to Betty.
There will be a private burial for immediate family at Nooksack Cemetery on Tuesday, October 5 with a gathering for extended family immediately following at 12pm at Nooksack Christian Fellowship.
