January 1, 1930 - October 25, 2022
Coeur D'Alene, Idaho - Cecil A. Ferguson, age 92, passed away on October 25, 2022 in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
Cec was born on January 1, 1930 to Cecil and Irene Ferguson in Cloverdale, BC Canada. He moved with his mother to Bellingham, Wa. at the age of six and graduated from Bellingham High School in 1948.
Immediately after graduation he enlisted into the Army and spent most of his four years in the Philippines during the Korean War. He was shot in the neck when engaged in guerilla warfare and was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal.
The next four years were spent at the University of Washington receiving his civil engineering degree. He was hired before graduation by North American Rockwell in Downey, California. He spent summers during college working for Boeing and surveying the North Cascades Highway. Cec spent 32 years as an engineer at the beginning of the space shuttle years.
Cec was preceded in death by his parents, his son David Ferguson and by his wife Diana. He is survived by his sister Marie Einarson (Ed) of Blaine, Wa. and five daughters - Ann Marie White, Kathy Bliven (Mickey) and Elaine Ferguson of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho. Patricia Buice (Steve) of San Juan Capistrano, Ca. and Lorraine Martin (Joel) of Forestville, Ca.
Cec is also survived by his niece Cindy L. Geri (Todd) of Bellingham, Wa., former wife Barbara Adams of Coeur D'Alene, Idaho and nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A family celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Goodbye Mickey, my sweet big brother and childhood hero.
