David Wells Obituary

David E. Wells, 63, of Ferndale peacefully passed away at home on May 18, surrounded by his family and friends. Dave was a patent holding inventor, he also began Baker Septic Tank Pumping as a 1 man/1 truck operation and grew it into a successful family business before he retired in January 2010, after 25 years. Dave loved nature, he especially loved humminghbirds and spent hours caring for them. He was a compassionate man, caring for the defenseless and those who were down-on-their luck. Dave had a great sense of humor and enjoyed laughing and joking with people. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother Barbara Wells, brother Chuck and grand son Gideon. He is survived by Kathy, his beloved wife of 32 years, and 5 children, Trudy (Chuck) Lence, Terry (Ann) Wells, Tony Wells, Michael (Jennifer) Wells, and Kathleen Giffin, as well as siblings JoAnn (Nolan) Thomas, Alice (Frank) Wright, Joe (Peggy) Wells, and John Wells, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his precious grand children, Justin (Ashlee) Wells, Shauna (Cabot) Hanson, Colleen Wells, Kaitie, Bethany and CJ Lence, Isaac Giffin and Noah Wells. The family would like to thank all of those who loved Dave and prayed for him, especially Andy and Monica Fisher, who dedicated the past week their lives caring for Dave and his family. In lieu of flowers, donations marked "In Memory of David Wells" may be made to your favorite charity. Bring your favorite dish to a potluck BBQ celebrating Dave's life to 6118 Kickerville Rd. Ferndale on May 30, at 2 pm.

I'm sure that I am only one of Dave's "Sweeties" but I always enjoyed joking with him and the riball humor that he often displayed. I am sorry for the loss of a very fun man who could laugh at himself and have fun with every day work. My thoughts are with all of those of you in the Well's family during this hard time.
