Debbie Neufeld Obituary

August 15, 1962
February 8, 2012
Debbie peacefully slipped away to heaven at her home after battling a long illness. Her husband and family members were by her side. Debbie was a fighter with a very strong will and did not succumb easily. She was born in Trail, British Columbia and was raised in several different towns throughout that province as her fathers' job required occasional relocation. She met her husband Jim in Vancouver BC while he was working there. They immediately fell in love and were married shortly thereafter. They spent the better part of thirty years together, most of it on the farm they purchased near Ferndale. Debbie loved the farm work. She loved the lawn, the trees, the plants and flowers, and all the animals (both wild and tame) to enjoy and take care of. She had a special soft spot for her horses and loved grooming them. She was always generous with her time. She was a hard working woman who did not shy away from challenges. Debbie had a radiant smile and was always quick to deliver it when she saw a friend coming. She is survived by her husband Jim. Her parents Alf and Sharon Clausen of Kelowna B.C. brother Greg of Nanaimo B.C, sister Teresa of Minnesota and many relatives on both the Clausen and Neufeld sides of the family. A private family memorial will be held for Debbie. Jim and the family would like to thank the doctors and medical personnel who gave their best efforts, and a special loving thanks to Whatcom Hospice (2901 Squalicum Pkwy,B'ham WA), where donations can be made in Debbie's name in lieu of flowers. I love you dearest friend and miss you like no other. I hear your voice in the whispering of trees and in the soft neighs. I can hear you laughing in delight and in that oh so funny mischief. I just plain miss you and I often pick up the phone, just to see if you would answer. I love you dearest friend. Hugs to Jimmy, Greg, Teresa, Sharon and Alf.

Dearest Debbie.....How I wish I could have known you. How I wish I had the pleasure of seeing an Angel in real life. How I wish you could have been my family. I know you are in Heaven, you are home. I've prayed for months upon months for your pain to disappear, for your recovery. I loved you without having to meet you. You will forever be the sister I always wanted.
To the man of Debbie's dreams, Jim....How I hope and pray you find some semblence of happiness you had with Debbie. You are an inspiration to the love of my life. Please, please....hang in there. You are never alone.
Dearest Clausens....you are an extremely fortunate family. My prayers will never end for you.
Love always

Dear Jim,
I was so sorry to hear the sad news of Debbie's death. Although I never had the privilege of meeting her, the few times we exchanged messages, I felt her warmth and care.
May much love and strength surround you at this very difficult time.

Special memories of debbie....an addition of two bedrooms to a house purchased in Ferndale for brother John. Ted, Karen, Debbie, Jim and I spent many hours in construction. Deb was there with the finishing touches...a picket fence, plants and flowers.

Debbie, Jim and I consulted numerous times, by phone...reviewing I.B.D. (investors business daily) trying to make sense of techinical stock trading indicators...covered calls was the name...to make money was the game...will miss Deb's cheerful, insightful wisdom.

Dear Jim, You have such a hugh caring heart, as did Debbie. Both of you were so dedicated and full of love for each other. You tended the farm and cared for the animals with the same dedication, always working side by side. Looseing your life's partner will leave a hugh void. We hurt for you, and love you so very much. We are looking forward to our reunion with her and other loved ones in heaven someday. LaVonne Neufeld

Jim, Debbie was a very special person, and while we didn't see her often due to our work in Africa, we always enjoyed dropping in when at home. She had a way of making us feel welcome, and was so very excited about her horses, and the salmon in the creek. She loved flowers and yard work, and I remember her giving us some poppy seeds for our garden here in West Africa. Unfortunately they didn't grow. I guess they were made for the cool Pacific Northwest, and the African heat just did them in. Big disappointment, but a precious reminder of your dear wife, and how she loved beautiful things. God gave you an enthusiastic life parner, and we know you are going to miss her very much. We keep you in our prayers and look forward to seeng you this summer when we return from Togo. Wish we could have been there for you at this time.
We love you.

Dear Jimmy, may the love we have in our hearts, shine a comforting light upon you now and always...
I knew Deb but for a few, brief moments in time. She was always so kind to me on the phone and the few times, that we met in person.
What I appreciated so much about Deb, was her warm personality, her love for horses and how happy she made my special cousin, Jimmy.

Blessed Thoughts & Prayers to you, and family.
