Bellingham, Washington - Frank N. Chorvat Jr., age 81, passed away on October 1, 2025 in Bellingham, WA. He was born in Chicago, IL on May 2, 1944 to parents Doris (Tarte) and Frank Chorvat Sr. He graduated from Bellingham High School in 1962 and served in the US Army from 1964-1967. He married Sandra Stull on September 30, 1967 in Bellingham and together they raised their three sons, Jason, Joe, and Tim.
He was a career firefighter/paramedic for 29 years with the Bellingham Fire Department. Frank was an active member of American Legion Post #7 and served on the military funeral honors detail for years. He enjoyed salmon fishing with family and friends and spent many summers in the waters off Vancouver Island. Frank and Sandy wintered in their RV in the desert southwest. Frank enjoyed working on projects and spoiling his dogs. He was a loving grandfather and took great pride in all of his grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Chris, and his son, Joe. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sandy, son Jason and his children Nick and Peyton, son Tim (wife Jenna) and their daughters Lily and Sylvie, grandson Chris (who is Joe's son), brother Michael (wife Shirley), sister Cindy (husband Rick) Batdorf and brother-in-law Keith (wife Sue) Stull.
The family would like to thank the staff at Whatcom Hospice House for their care of Frank.
Services will be held Monday, October 13, 10 AM graveside service with military honors at Greenacres Memorial Park, 11:30 AM memorial service at Westford Funeral Home, followed by a reception at Westford's Broadway Hall.
