Frank Sanchez Obituary

Bellingham, Washington - Frank Sanchez was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico, at his grandmother's home, to Frank W. Sanchez and Petrita (Sanchez) Sanchez. He was the eldest of six children.
The family later moved to Seattle, where Frank attended Franklin High School and graduated in 1954. He went on to complete a five-year plumbing apprenticeship and worked in that field for ten years as a member of Local 32. Frank then pursued higher education at the University of Washington, where he earned his B of S degree in Mechanical Engineering.
On September 23, 1961, Frank married Barbara Snabb, and together they shared a loving marriage of 64 years. He also served in the Navy Air Reserve, completing his service in 1962.
Frank and Barbara had a passion for travel, visiting many countries including Europe, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Morocco, Korea, Japan, China, Australia, New Zealand, Russia, and the Baltic states. Frank loved his Spanish Heritage and history. Anyone traveling to Spain Frank would love helping them with his travel suggestions. Frank and Barbara went to Finland this July to visit family. Frank also enjoyed golf, running Kulshan Kiwanis tournaments, and had a keen interest in managing his own investments.
Their only child, Jolene, passed away on February 25, 1997. In her memory, Frank and Barbara established the Sisu Children's Fund, which continues to provide financial assistance to local children with medical or physical problems when insurance will not cover the need, and their parents cannot afford to pay.
Frank was preceded in death by his daughter Jolene; and his sisters, Darlyne Sanchez, Shirley Scheck, and Gladys Sanchez.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; his siblings, Susan (Loren) Sanchez and Jeffery (Jan) Sanchez; and nieces and nephews, Anastasia Pedroncelli, Dustin McPhillips, Allegra Sanchez, Domina (Bryan) Sanchez-King, Kim Sasser, Kirk (Shelly) Sasser, and Jill Sasser.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 8, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by burial at Bayview Cemetery. A reception will follow at Westford's Broadway Hall.

Condolences to Barb and family on Frank's passing. My family and I had the pleasure of knowing Frank & Barb for many decades, and I grew up & went all through school and college hailing from the southside "Edgemoor kids" with Frank & Barb's dearly departed daughter, Jolene. I am glad at the very least that Frank & Jolene are now reunited for eternity. May they rest in peace. The world will miss Frank, his intelligence, gentle and kind spirit, and for being an all around good soul, husband, father, brother, and friend. I am glad he led a long and very full adventurous life. Rest easy Frank, Godspeed.

Uncle Frank sorry I couldn't make it to your celebration of life. I just had a heavy heart not being there and thought about all the family memories we shared over the years. I just wanted to thank you for your services to our country try and being a great uncle husband and father. Love you and rest in peace.

Claudia and I will always remember how helpful and generous a person Frank was. I got to know him later in life but we became close cousins in no time. Visits to our home in ABQ or our visits to Seattle. Frank and Barbara were always great company. Frank we will miss you greatly. You lived well.... An inspiration.
