Harriet Ziegler Obituary

riend: Harriet Virginia Ziegler passed away on 02/10/2016 valiantly fighting pancreatic cancer. In life, Harriet took joy from her family, friends, and the beauty of nature. She lived life fully for 61 years and enthusiastically shared her unfailing optimism and faith in humanity with all those privileged to know and love her. She loved Mt. Baker and participated in National Forest trail maintenance as an expression of her appreciation. She enjoyed mountain hiking, camping, reading, animals of all kinds, laughing and living life to its fullest. Harriet, a native Michigander, and her husband Dale made Bellingham their home for the past twenty years. She is survived by her husband; two children, Jessie and Dylan, and three siblings. No formal service is planned, and contributions to the Washington Trail Association, American Cancer Society, or Nature Conservancy are appropriate regards.

Special people in your life take some ownership of a special place in your heart. Harriet took much of mine and will own it forever. She was one of my best friends and someone I always admired for being so real. I look forward to seeing her again some day. In the meantime, my heart is breaking.

My condolences to Harriet's family.
In ninth grade French class, she leaned over to me and told me a semi-dirty joke, that has endured with me since as my as my all time favorite.
God bless you all in coping with the grief of her loss.

You will be greatly missed here on earth, but we are glad to know you are now at home in heaven. You always made me laugh and had such a warm happiness about you. My only regret is that we didn't get to spend more time together. Until we meet again....
