Bellingham , Washington - Howard G. Zavitz unexpectedly passed away April 5, 2023 in Bellingham Washington. A city and state he loved including All his Friends in and around the area. He was born on July 29, 1965 in Michigan. He leaves behind his Daughter, Gabriella Simon -Zavitz and her Mother, Alexandra Simon. Howard G Zavitz preceded his Father, Darryl Zavitz Sr in death May 31, 2020. He is survived by his Mother, Sandra Smith and Step Mother, Jennifer Zavitz. Howard has many Brothers and Sisters. Roxanne Zastrow (Tracy), Deborah Ozanich (Randall), Darryl Zavitz Jr a.k.a. Rusty (Velma), Danielle Zavitz (Jessie), Stacy Phillips (Christopher), Alvin Zavitz II (Melissa), Lawrence Zavitz, David Byars (Katricia), Mark Byars, Tammy Ruggiero (Scott), Shannon Byars, William Eggert Jr. Howard is loved and missed by over 23 nieces and nephews and over 27 great nieces and great nephews. A Family and Friends gathering is going to be held at 3355 Hixson Road in Rochester Michigan to share in our memories and stories about Howard on June 3rd, 2023 starting at 3:30 pm. Please bring your favorite pictures and memories to share. In lieu of flowers donate something for an auction. There will be an auction for proceeds to be given to Howard's Daughter Gabriella Simon -Zavitz whom He never really got to help and enjoy her growing up years. Howard was a talented beautiful person, self taught in multiple ways; wood working, airbrush art, music, cooking, RV conversions, etc. He scored so well in school, when he went, the Air Force recruited him while still in highschool. Howard always danced to the music in his head not the world's. He didn't last long in the Air Force or many jobs but everyone loved him. He was a follower of Jesus 's teachings. He is now no longer suffering and with his Lord and Savior. He is loved and missed by many.

I'll never forget Howard, we were very good friends during the few years I was in Bellingham in the mid-90s. Had many fun adventures with him; trips to Seattle, trips to Everett, hanging out at coffee shops, roofing, shootin' pool.
One day, my uncle and I wanted to hang out with Howard, so we went to go find him. He wasn't at home, so we went to the coffee shop to look for him. Nope. Not there, so we go to another, and another, and another. We stopped at everyone's house between the cafes, checked the parks and beaches, even jumped off a cliff into the Puget Sound yelling "HOWARD!!!" I think it was March or April....
Still, no Howard, nobody had seen him all day.
Defeated and exhausted we slunk back home to find Howard watching a movie... he tuned and looked at us as we came through the door saying, "Where have you guys been? I've been looking all over town for you!"
