Keith LaBounty Obituary

Keith Edward LaBounty

January 24, 1947 - April 3, 2025

Bellingham, Washington - Keith Edward LaBounty passed away April 3, 2025 in Bellingham. Born to John and June (Elledge) LaBounty Jan 24, 1947. After high school Keith joined the Navy and his service took him overseas to the Philippines, Viet Nam, and Japan.

After retiring from the Navy Keith settled in to civilian life in Whatcom County.

Keith loved people and sharing his navy stories to all who would listen infusing them with a splash of satire, as he was born an entertainer, performer and joke teller. Accomplished musician singer, playing his many guitars; music was a major part in his life. A talented musician.

Keith was a postman for a time then briefly joined the Bellairs band later became a founding member of The Reflections band in 2000. Keith played venues from Kalona BC to Las Vegas and many points in between. In 2017 The Reflections expanded the band to a five piece band and changed the name to Fossil Rock. Keith loved the 50's & 60's rock n roll music but his first love was country music as The Bounty Hunter. Keith often entertained folks at many of the local nursing homes and did benefits for the people in Oso mudslide 2014. Keith always said it gave him great joy to "give back" to our seniors and people who need help.

Keith loved riding his Harley. He would say "any day with a y in it was a good to ride". Keith fulfilled a item on his bucket list a few years ago with a couple of buddies a "corner to corner" ride around the United States.

Keith was preceded in death by both his parents. He is survived by his wife Loretta (Lott) LaBounty, Lynden, brother Cliff LaBounty, Eastern Washington, son Bryan LaBounty, Renton, daughters Cecilia LaBounty, Renton, and Hannah LaBounty, Arlington. We find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever.

His children find comfort in knowing that their Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught them , the the love he shared, and they will cherish the memories forever. "Campfires will not be the same ever."

At Keith's request that there will not be any services except being buried at sea by the Navy.

Keith was like a brother to me. He was good friends with my older brothers, as was Clifford. When I turned 16 Keith asked me what I wanted for my birthday. I told him a fifth if MacNaughtons whiskey. He delivered and left me a note he had hidden it under my mattress. I still have the empty bottle. He was the best, so kind, loving, and loyal. I loved you Keith. RIP my life time friend.

Cousin and lifelong friend. Acted as Christ's comforter with music and friendship to many during hard times and good times. His phone calls would always start with a big "Hello Cousin."

Keith attended schools in Ferndale with the Class of 1965 before graduating at Meridian. He attended many of our monthly gatherings and it was nice to reconnect. Praying that fond memories fill the void of his absence here.
