Lynette Louise Evans

Lynette Louise Chapman Evans, nee Peters, passed away at age 73 on Sept. 16, 2017 in Las Vegas, NV, gracefully and peacefully, with her daughters by her side. She is survived by sister Diane Peters, daughters Maile Chapman and Danielle Chapman, step-daughter Shannon Gaul, first cousins Elaine Dick, John and Nancy Bullene, and Char and Gary Lauer, and many others. Lynette was preceded in death by parents Wesley and Anne Peters of Smith Rd. in Bellingham, WA, and by husband Ronald Evans and step-son Shawn Evans, both of Tacoma, WA. Born and raised in Bellingham, Lynette was a proud graduate of Meridian High School, where she was a member of the marching band. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics at Western Washington University, where she met her first husband, Landy Chapman of Hawaii. Lynette enjoyed working for Xerox in Honolulu, as well as for Georgia Pacific in Bellingham. Later, after marrying Ron, she moved to Tacoma, where she worked in women's retail fashion. She retired to Las Vegas to be closer to her daughters, where her days were filled with friends, sunshine, laughter, live music, and local fun. Everywhere she went, Lynette brought her cheerful smile and good humor, as well as her love of music (especially oldies and country), red wine, dark chocolate, and cooking from new recipes. She also loved caring for animals of all kinds, including cats, budgies, wild birds, raccoons, possums, squirrels, and any other hungry or homeless creatures who crossed her path. Lynette was renowned for being a good listener and friend to all, and for always providing thoughtful advice, a sympathetic ear, and a warm hug. She will long be remembered and deeply missed as a kind, beautiful, and beloved soul whose care and compassion touched the lives of everyone who met her. A celebration of Lynette's beautiful life will be held on Dec. 3rd at 1:00pm, with a reception to follow until 4:00pm, at Ankar Park clubhouse in Bellingham.
