We used to be friends on Facebook. Haven't contacted Mac since I have left early 2012 after I deleted that account. I am in shock that he is gone. Coming to terms that I am trans myself this especially hit me hard. I hope he is at peace. He was such a funny dude.

Mac was always there for me as I began to trainsition. Him and I had a lot of the similar views on therapy and doctors. I miss him so much. I had plans to see him during the summer and to just hang out and be kids. He really was an inspiration to me. He was an insirpation. I love you, Mac.

I met Mac in middle school when we both did singing lessons. In high school we started talking and we shared war stories. I won't ever forget his vibe and how he could get me to laugh when I needed it most. Rest in peace, Mac.

I really didn't know Mac or Maggie well while he lived in Iowa, though I know his family who made such an positive impact on the UU Fellowship of Ames, IA. May the family be consoled by knowing friends from afar are thinking of you and hoping you'll find comfort in each other and in your communities.

Your smile lit up the room. I'm so sorry that you had to hide so much pain with your silliness. I'll miss you and hope that your family soon remembers the happy parts more often so they can heal.

To Mac, I address this to wherever you are. I feel your spirit everyday. I think to myself that you're on the other side of the world, exploring, traveling & creating change. Please guide us as we use your light to see the way. I may have never met you and I'm devastated at the thought I never will. But I know you impacted everyone you met. I will carry a piece of you in my heart every day.

I may not have known him in life, but the impact from his death is felt far and wide in the region. I vow to keep fighting for justice in his memory.

I knew Mac as Maggie, from elementary school. Honestly, Maggie was one of the nicest people I knew, when there were many others who weren't, especially in the latter portion of elementary. That meant a lot to me then and it still does. I'm so sad to see her go....

My thoughts and prayers are with you all.
I loved this child and don't have the right words to convey my sorrow.
Just know that I am thinking of you.

I knew Mac from a support group we were both a part of....he didn't come every week but when he did, I always was so happy to see him. It just doesn't seem right to speak of him in the past tense as his memory will forever live on....I know he is somewhere resting in peace and free from the grasp of depression where he is happy and free to be his authentic self!! Mac, we will continue to fight for change in your honor!!! You will forever be missed...you left a mark on my heart.
