Marion Sperry Obituary

Marion F. Sperry, 89, passed away on June 3, 2014. Born Marion Frances Bohn , September 4, 1924, in Bellingham. She resided in Bellingham from 1924-2002, when she moved to Lake Stevens to be closer to family. Marion Graduated from Bellingham High School in 1943. Soon after Graduation she married Leonard C. Sperry in 1944 and together they had 8 children. Marion and Leonard enjoyed 45 happy years together. Marion and her husband worked with American Missionary Fellowship for 26 years in small rural churches. They also volunteered at the Nooksack Bible Camp as counselors and kitchen staff. Marion was a Charter member of Immanuel Bible Church, a member of the Whatcom Genealogical Society, and a Charter member of Daughters of American Revolution (D.A.R. ). Marion loved sewing, gardening, church work and genealogy. Marion is survived by Lawrence Sperry (Deana),Loren Sperry (Janet),Leroy Sperry, Lynn Sperry (Donna),Leslie Sperry (Patricia),Lynette Schauer (Ken), Linda Elliott (Don) 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Sperry and daughter, Lori Sperry, brothers Melvin, Oliver and Orville, and sister Flossie. Memorial donations may go to the American Missionary Fellowship, www.infaith.org, or 672 Conestoga Road, PO Box 370, Villanova, Pennsylvania 19085 Services will be held at Moles Farewell Tributes, 2565 Lakeway Dr. Bellingham, WA, Friday, June 6th, at 2:00PM. Marion Sperry was the other mother on the block and the other kids always had somebody to play with. Marianne was the workhorse of that family. God bless her.

My condolences go out to the Sperry family. Marion was an awesome woman. I have such fond memories of her on Xenia St and at Nooksack Bible Camp. She was such a good Mom and cook and always made me feel like part of the family. My thoughts, prayers, and love are with you all. RIP "Mom". You will be missed.
