In loving memory of Neva Marie Reynolds (nee Babin) age 82. Neva passed away at home on Wednesday, January 7th, surrounded by her family. She was born December 5, 1926, to George Garnet Babin and Opal Josephine Duvall in Redmond, OR, and grew up on the Eastern Oregon prairies where she loved to "run like the wind". She attended schools in Oregon and Bellingham, where she graduated from Bellingham High School in 1946. She worked as a telephone operator and attended Western Washington State College, where she met her husband, Stanley Reynolds. They married in Seattle on September 9, 1950, where they lived for 40 years, raising their family, before returning to Bellingham in 1991. Neva sang and played piano beautifully, drew and painted, and sewed for her family for years. She was a Cub Scout leader and school volunteer. She enjoyed camping trips with her family around the U.S. She and Stan also traveled to Alaska and Hawaii, the Caribbean, the U.K., Ireland, and France. She boated with Stan for years in Puget Sound and the San Juan and Gulf Islands in their sailboats Sanderling and Mandolin Wind. Neva earned an Associate of Arts degree from Highline Community College in Library Science in 1980. Neva bravely moved through Alzheimers with her sweet nature intact, and a smile for her loved ones till the end of her life. She was lovingly cared for at home by Stan for many years. Neva was pre-deceased by her parents and three siblings, Leona (Andy) Davidson of Portland, OR, Paul Rinehart of Kingman, AZ, and Helen DeVore of Los Angeles, CA. She is survived by husband Stan, children Laurie (Bob) Winters of Brookline, MA, Steven (Kaylen) Reynolds of Seatac, WA, and Robin (Joe) Wenderski of Bellingham, and granddaughters Briar Winters of New York, NY and Claire Winters of Brookline, and grandson Jeffrey Reynolds of Seatac. She is also survived by two siblings, sister Irene DuShane of Mesa, AZ, and Arlie (Betty) Curtiss of Beaverton, OR, and numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. Neva's special caregiver and friend of six years, Sarah Briggs, provided her with hours of joy and companionship. She has our deepest appreciation. Private family services will be held at a later time in Condon, OR. Memorials, may be given in Neva's name, with the family's gratitude, to the Alzheimer's Society of Washington, P.O. Box 4104, Bellingham, WA 98227. You may view photos of Neva and share memories with the family at
