Rebecca Schriver Obituary

Rebecca "Becky" Jane Schriver, an Elma resident passed away on Monday, November 3, 2025, at the age of 73 after a two-year illness, in her home, with her loving husband by her bedside.

Becky was born on March 20, 1952, in Yakima, Washington to parents, Jack and Mary (Huddleston) McDonald. Becky's father was a Washington State Patrolmen, so the family lived in various cities throughout Washington due to Jack's frequent transfers. Becky and her 3 siblings lived in Yakima, Davenport, and Everett before moving to North Bend. Becky attended Mount Si High School, where she would meet her soulmate and lifelong companion, Robert "Bob" Schriver. After graduating from Mount Si High School in 1970. Becky began a cosmetology program with Clover Park Technical College. After graduation from beauty school, Becky and Bob married on January 21, 1972, at St. Charles Catholic Church in Tacoma, Washington. The young couple moved to Issaquah and Bellevue for a short time before moving to Bellingham, Washington to raise their family. Becky and Bob had 2 beautiful daughters: Melissa Marie and Cassandra Lynn. Along with being a devoted wife and mother, Becky worked as a hair stylist at Arzelle Beauty Salon. She then moved into a second 15-year career in medical office administration. After their girls graduated high school, the empty nesters moved to Valley Springs, California to help start their own business. Becky switched career paths again and began working as a real estate title officer. She worked for First American Title, Calaveras Title and Old Republic Title until her retirement. After almost 2 decades in Valley Springs, Becky and Bob moved back to Washington to be closer to family, finding their forever home in Elma.

Finding themselves close to the beach, the couple enjoyed beach combing, finding treasures and beauty in the simple things. Becky loved to crochet and garden, but her truest and most recent passion lay in lapidary. Making and setting jewelry from stone. Becky had all the tools to cut, polish, and form stones into various jewelry pieces. This activity provided her with much satisfaction and joy. Becky dedicated her life to her friends and family, with a listening ear and an embrace, her presence was a guiding light and her memory will forever be treasured by her husband, children, grandchildren and all who knew her.

Becky is reunited with her parents, Jack and Mary McDonald; brother, Kevin McDonald; and brother-in-law, Tom Davis.

Becky leaves behind her loving husband of 53 years, Robert "Bob" Schriver, of the family home; 2 daughters: Melissa (Chris Mangun) Schriver, of Brooklyn, New York; and Cassandra Schriver, of Ferndale, Washington; brother, Michael (Wendy) McDonald of Tacoma, Washington; sister, Lynn Davis, of Tacoma, Washington; and 3 beloved grandchildren: Miles, Otis, and Iris along with lifelong friends Lesley and Steve Edwards of Olympia, Washington.
