July 3, 1927 - April 9, 2025
Blaine, Washington - Bob lived in Birch Bay Village with his wife of 67 years and his furry friend "Smokey." Bob worked as a Kid in Nellie Juan, AK. Worked for Alaska Packers (DMC) Blaine for many years as a shipwright for Trident Seafoods as a O/S Foreman in South Naknek, AK.
Built two fishing boats and crab fished. His hobby was wood-working. Upon retirement he spent 6 months in Yuma, AZ every year.
Bob is survived by his wife, Sylvia, Daughters, Bonnie Toppen (Gerald), Vickie Kruse (Darwin) and grandsons and daughter, David Kruse, Donald Kruse (Melissa), Mark Toppen, Janell Toppen and 7 grandchildren, sister-in-law, Elaine Meiers and Nephew, Brian Meiers.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents Dorothy and Chester Metivier, sisters Violet Rockwell (Rocky), Blanche Burton (Howard), Ezetta Jones (Kenneth), Caroline Day (Harold).
There will be a graveside service on Wednesday, April 30, at 2 pm, located at Greenacres Memorial Park followed by refreshments in the chapel, 5700 Northwest Dr, Ferndale, WA 98248.

Bob was a great mentor for shipwright work which I still do. I had a great time working seasonally in So. Naknek/Trident with him and shared a lot of laughs.
Our memories of Bob and Sylvia will always be cherished.
