I have many fond memories of Bob through the years, and I was so sorry to hear of his passing. One that comes to me tonight was his careful instruction to me as I clambered out of my boat anchored offshore and into a cedar strip canoe Bob was sitting in, waiting to ferry me to shore on Sinclair Island. His calm guidance was remarkable in the face of likely tipping of the canoe, which would have plunged us both into the cold water. I'm sure he was relieved when we reached the shore without incident. Fair winds and calm seas, Bob. You will be missed greatly.
