Stephen Trott Obituary

Stephen H Trott

October 1, 1953 - August 20, 2024

Hermiston, Oregon - With humble acceptance of God's will, Stephen H. Trott entered fully into the presence of the Lord on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, holding the hand of his loving, dutiful son, Travis, in Hermiston, Oregon. He was 70 years old.

Steve was a devout Christian who was tethered to the truth of God's word. It brought him great joy to read his daily devotionals and sing hymns as often as he could. He had a great singing voice and enjoyed listening to music while taking long walks on Birch Bay Drive and most recently around his neighborhood in Hermiston. He enjoyed striking up conversations with anyone he crossed paths with.

Steve was born October 1st, 1953, to Lee and Margaret Trott in Bellingham, WA. He was the youngest of 7 children and the Trott name has been widely recognized in the food and restaurant industry from the family's former business: Lee's Drive-In on Lakeway and Alabama in Bellingham. Just about every Trott teenager worked at the Drive-In. Dad's order at the Drive-In always read: "xtra pics xtra mix" (extra pickles and extra special sauce).

Steve graduated from Sehome High School and pursued a career as a beloved food and restaurant supply salesman in Whatcom, Skagit, and Island Counties. You might have seen him around town, his license plate read: The Food Dude. Steve retired about 5 years ago and made his way to Hermiston, Oregon where he could be closer to his son Travis' young family.

Steve's warm, loving spirit is carried on by his children: Stephenie Wright, Lindsey Keane (Andrew), Travis Trott (Kimberly) and his siblings Rick (Joyce) Trott, Tim (Jacki) Trott, Dave (Kris) Trott. He will be dearly missed by his 7 grandchildren: Makayla, Abby, Henry, Gavin, Leah, Ryan, Callan, and many nieces and nephews who considered him to be their favorite uncle.

Preceding him in eternal peace were his parents, Lee and Margaret Trott, brother James Trott, nephew Monte Trott, and sisters Jean Trott and Marya Welch.

Steve was a cherished friend to many and had the gift of gab. Phone calls were never brief but always involved succinct jokes and witty remarks ("jk, lol")! He was a hard worker; a character and he loved making people laugh. He is leaving behind a legacy of immense humor, kindness and love.

A Celebration of Life honoring Steve will be held locally in Bellingham, WA at a later date.

Steve and I go way back in High school cruising in Bunks drive in around Cornwall Park. We became best friends as a brother and sister relationship. We would always stay in touch until this last year when he ended up moving away. Rest in Peace my friend. I will always remember our times together.

I spent many hours chatting with Steve. He was a good devoted Christian. I met him first at a Saturday night as Bible study, they are we were at a discipleship class together. I wish I miss your phone calls buddy I know you're with the Lord.

Hi dad, I know you are at peace and pain free, but selfishly - I´d rather have you here. "I love you to infinity and beyond." - Lindsey

My sympathies to the Trott family. Steve would stop by the Texaco gas station I worked at in 1968,69 &70 almost every night before closing with my order of fish and chips from Lee's Drive Inn. We would visit and I took care of his car, oil changes and lube. He was a good friend. He will be missed.

Our deepest sympathies to Steve´s family. Will always remember him and the crazy fun times we had in High School. As we aged and started our own families our paths would cross over the years and he always had that same wit. I will miss you my friend!
