Beloit, WI - Peter Frederick Rumpel, 77, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on June 19, 1946 in Milwaukee, WI, the son of Robert and Elizabeth (Riesen) Rumpel. Pete was a 1964 graduate of Oconomowoc High School. He married Lynn Krause on June 15, 1968 in the United Methodist Church in Oconomowoc, WI and the two celebrated 55 years of marriage this past summer.
Pete had a love for his family, friends, faith, food and fellowship. He never missed an opportunity to have a conversation, often about cooking, grilling, fishing, politics, sports and the occasional bourbon tasting. Pete spent his professional life working with clients in the insurance industry and retail. He loved supporting his children and grandchildren in their sports and activities leading to roles with the Beloit Boys and Girls Club, the Turner Booster Club, and the Turner School Board. Pete was a lifelong Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers fan watching nearly every game. In 2004, his faith in Jesus was reignited through attendance at the No Regrets Men's Conference and through the Operation Timothy study over multiple years with Pastor Joe MacDonald. This led to a connection with Central Christian Church in Beloit. The Thursday morning Thrive Bible Study group and his dear friend, Pastor Dave Meding have been instrumental over the recent years, especially through his battle with cancer. To the end, his parting words are "Keep the Faith!"
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Rumpel; children, Kathryn (Kurt) Schultz, Mark (Heidi) Rumpel, and John (Jennifer) Rumpel; grandchildren, Robyn (Dominick) Meyer, Regan Schultz (fiancé Isaiah Lemberger), Ethan Rumpel, Mayah Rumpel, Macie Rumpel, Noah Rumpel, Ellie Rumpel, and Avery Rumpel; sister, Elizabeth (Thomas) Gukich; sister-in-law, JoAnn (Dan) Jarocki; niece and nephew, Leslie Kleba and Scott Gukich.
He was predeceased by his parents and his wife's parents, Gary and Ellie Krause.
A Funeral Service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 in the Central Christian Church, 2460 Milwaukee Rd., Beloit, WI, with Pastor David Meding officiating. A visitation of remembrance will be from 4 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Rd., Beloit, WI.
