Alan was a great photographer and one of the nicest guys I ever met in the horse business. I met him when my horses won at Saratoga. Really friendly man and I was shocked to see he passed away so young. Very sorry to hear about his dad also passing .
Condolences to his family.

Alan Mattison is my best friend, I love him like an older brother. I met Alan at the Hinsdale Greyhound Park summer of 2008 and from there our friendship grew stronger. We fished, played different types of card games, played darts, played pool, played video games, split wood, played wiffle ball, and he let me ride his four wheeler. He started calling me his Wood Splitter because I split so much wood for him without using a wood splitter. At the beginning of this message I said Alan is my best friend because he will always be alive in my heart, missed lots and never forgotten. I love Alans whole family and I will do anything I can for them. FOREVER THE MATTISONS WOOD SPLITTER AND HELPING HAND. I love you Mattison family.

Natalie, Brittney, Kathy, and Clyde I am so sorry for your loss. Alan used to call me his wood splitter because when I split wood for him, I never liked using the actual wood splitter unless I had to. He also knew when I started splitting there was no quit in me. I also helped him with anything else I could around his house. "FOREVER WILL BE THE MATTISON'S WOOD SPLITTER AND HELPING HAND." I love you Mattison family.

I will always remember the little blonde haired boy that stole my heart at Hinsdale Raceway. And the man he became. My heart, thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

I'm so very sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, I hadn't seen Alan since we went to school together. We weren't close friends or anything, but I always remembered how nice he always was and the fun we had when we would say funny stuff to each other when we ran into one another. He was a great guy and he touched people and had an impact on them. My condolences to everyone, please take care.
