Arklin Minor Obituary

STAMFORD -- Arklin Henry Minor, 77, of 1180 Bergrucken Lane, Stamford, died Monday morning, May 21, 2007, at Crescent Manor Nursing Home in Bennington, after a short illness.

He was born in Lyndon on Nov. 30, 1929, a son of the late Avon Minor and Eva (Whitehead) Minor. He attended schools in Lyndon.

Mr. Minor was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the Army from May 22, 1951, until his honorable discharge on May 11, 1963, with the rank of corporal.

Mr. Minor was first employed in the interior-exterior painting business and later worked as a farmer in Connecticut. He was last employed as a security guard at Diamond Lumber Co. in New Milford, Conn., until his retirement in 1992.

He was a member of the Stamford Community Church. He was a member of St. Peter’s Lodge No. 21 AF & AM in New Milford, Conn., and the Mayflower Chapter OES No. 19 in Wilmington.

He enjoyed seasonal camping.

Survivors include his wife, the former Elaine Ahlf, whom he married on Oct. 3, 1964, in Cambria Heights, N.Y.

One son Arklin Henry Minor II of Stamford.

Graveside committal services for Arklin Henry Minor will be held Friday, May 25, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Millard Cemetery in Stamford with the Rev. William Wilson, Pastor of the Stamford Community Church officiating. There are no calling hours. Memorial contributions may be made to the Stamford Community Church in care of

Flynn & Dagnola-Montagna Home for funerals, Central Chapels at 74 Marshall St. North Adams, MA 01247, which is in charge of arrangements.
