Arthur B. Hayes 1943 - 2008 BELLOWS FALLS Arthur B. Hayes, of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away Sept. 2, 2008, at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, surrounded in the love of his family and friends. Born on Jan. 28, 1943, in Bellows Falls, son of Arthur B. Hayes Sr. and Margaret L. Mason Hayes, he lived and worked in Vermont until his retirement as an auto mechanic in 2000. He served in the Army during the Viet Nam conflict. In 2001, Mr. Hayes moved to Alaska to be near family. He spent time doing what he loved best, fishing, traveling, helping others and being at the race track. He leaves his wife of 20 years, Barbara Green Hayes of Fairbanks; stepson, Robert Telford and family of Warren, Pa.; stepdaughter, Barbara Wescot and family of Troy, N.Y.; nine step-grandchildren in Pennsylvania and New York; his sister, Emma Grover of Fairbanks; sister-in-law, Christine Hayes Lundstedt and family of Plainville, Miss.; a niece and her husband, Margaret A. and Victor C. Humphrey of Fairbanks; two nephews, Edward S. Grover and Sharon Ulrich of Fairbanks, and Raymond A. Grover Jr. and his wife, Sarah, of Colo, Iowa; great-nieces and nephews in Iowa and Alaska; great-great-nieces and nephews in Alaska; cousins in Vermont, Virginia, and Alaska, and many friends in Vermont and various states, especially in Fairbanks and North Pole, Alaska. He will be forever in our hearts and missed by all his family. He was predeceased by a sister, Margaret L. Hayes, and by a brother, Edward P. Hayes.4
