Dear Mary and Family:
I was away and just read about Claudia. I am sorry for your loss. As you know, she and I went to Sunderland school together. We were in the same grade. Though I have not seen her in years she was still a friend. Funny, she signed my autograph book in 8th grade with a cute poem. She had a cute sense of humor. It is hard to lose a sister. Our hearts go out to all of you.
Love,
Linda (Pennock) and Peter Kane

Though I don't know all of you who are mourning Claudia, I did know her over some summers in the early 1980s (and then again when she worked on a house in my parent's neighborhood). We both worked at Emerald Lake State Park. Her son Gary worked with us too. I was fond of Gary and Claudia - they were always so positive, hardworking, friendly and showed such love for family, nature, and animals. They made going to work so cheery - and such fantastic senses of humor! I remember Claudia's laugh and wit like those Emerald Lake summers were just yesterday. I was sad to hear of Gary's passing when I read Claudia's obituary, I didn't know. I've thought about them a lot over the past 25 years. I can only imagine what it must be like for all of you who knew Claudia, know that though you are strangers - you are in my prayers.
