I met Clyde many years ago at Hinsdale raceway,I was a teenager, always thought him a kind, gentle man and a good horseman..Saw him at fairs years after and always shared a smile and a handshake!

I will miss my chats with Clyde when he would go to the Cumberland Fair in Maine. I would always look to see if he was seated outside before I would make my way to the announcer's booth, hoping to get a chance to visit with he and Kathy. A few years back his grandson Brad told me he thought that Clyde wasn't going to get to the fair that year as he wasn't feeling well and much to my surprise I did spot him as he did show up. Maybe racing was just a little something to make it a better day. Bill Ellis
