Dennis Harper Obituary

Dennis M. Harper, born April 15, 1952, in Bennington, Vermont, passed away on October 10, 2024 at the age of 72. A man of countless talents, Dennis was a son, brother, father and grandfather who lived life fully, whether he was working with his hands or creating art. From his early days spent hunting and fishing in the Vermont woods to serving in the United States Air Force, Dennis lived with a deep respect for nature and service.

After his time in the Air Force, Dennis channeled his energy into motorcycles, becoming a skilled mechanic who could fix or ride anything. He later found his artistic calling as a tattoo artist, before moving to Florida to be by his son, Jason Harper. Dennis's later years were spent creating beautiful works of art, ranging from slate paintings to wood burnings. His legacy is his art, which will continue to inspire those who encounter his work. He is survived by his sister Judy Forrest, his brother Harold (Butch) Harper, son Jason and wife Christine as well as many loving family members, including grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Jason,

My condolences to you and your family. I have a lot of good memories from our high school days hanging out with your dad as well as later on in life when Dennis and I worked together. Dennis was a unique and talented individual. I'll always be in awe of his artistic abilities. Rest in peace Dennis.

I was sad to hear of Denny´s passing. Denny and I were next-door neighbors and close friends from the age of five through high school. We spent many summer days together and I could not asked for a better buddy growing up. His artistic days started back with his model cars and planes collection- all detailed and painted meticulously; he started his mechanic years building tote goats and go carts with his father Hap back then too. RIP Benny J.

Denny was a smart, interesting person to be around. Full of fun and daring. We were sad to see him move from Bennington and now even sadder to hear of his passing. Till we meet again, Denny, keep Crawdad and the boys in line up there....

Dennis was a friend of mind. We grew up in the same neighbor hood and shared good times playing softball ,fishing in the south stream, and riding motorcycles. He was always a good artist even when we were kids building models his drawings were great. He was a natural. Rest in peace my friend.
