Dorothy Frost Obituary

Dorothy K.M. Frost, 85, a former resident of North Bennington and more recently a resident of the Village at Fillmore Pond died peacefully on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY following a stroke.

She was born in Glen Ridge, New Jersey January 4, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Karl Muller and Dorothy (Brougham) Muller. She received her education in Bloomfield, New Jersey and was a graduate of Bloomfield High School. She later graduated at the top of her class from the Russell Sage School of Nursing. She married Dr. Oakley M. Frost in 1958. They worked together running a family practice office in Hanover, MA, until moving to Loudonville, NY, where Oakley finished his surgical training at Albany Medical Center. They finally settled in North Bennington, VT where they raised 10 children. Dorothy provided a loving and nurturing environment for her family and was always available to help her children and friends by lending an ear and offering her wisdom. She worked as a registered nurse and vascular technician in the surgical office of Dr. Oakley and Dr. Scott Frost. She was adored by her patients. Even after divorce, the three of them continued to enjoy working together and caring for many wonderful patients for over 15 years. Randy Frost also joined the team and worked there for several years, where Dorothy helped him learn vascular technology. Dorothy enjoyed music, singing, art work, reading, biking, and enjoyed time with her beloved grandchildren and pets. Her passion was for painting, and she gave away many of her beautiful creations to her children, grandchildren and friends over the years. She was a member of the church and choir at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington. Dorothy opened her heart and home to all friends of her children, many of whom continue to think of her as a second Mom. She will be remembered for her kindness and generosity that continued into her senior years, despite the onset of dementia, where she was always there to greet her caregivers or comfort other residents in need. Dorothy loved to sing and continued singing with her family through her very last days. The family is very grateful for the wonderful care she received at Brookdale-Fillmore Pond and the neurology service at Albany Med. Survivors include her children, Eric Scott Frost (Nancy) of Bennington, Randall Frost of Bennington, Gary Frost (Laurie) of Stuart, Florida, Betsy Frost (Jeff Silva) of Ipswich, MA, John Frost of Albany, NY, Tina Moll (Jeffrey) of Middleton, MA, Robert Frost (Julie) of Monroe, CT, Matthew Frost (Susan) of North Bennington, Jay Frost of Texas, and Laura Frost (Eric van den Brulle) of Brooklyn, NY along with many grandchildren: Erica and Adam Frost; Kimberly Tranchida; Alicia, Kristina, Rachel, and Alexis Frost; Connor and Rowan Silva; Robbie Frost; Remi and Sami Moll; Olivia, Hannah, and Addison Frost; Kyana Frost; and Eve van den Brulle. She was pre-deceased by Dr. Oakley M. Frost and her brother, Frederick Muller. Friends may call at the Mahar and Son Funeral Home on Friday March 11, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be held at Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church in North Bennington on Saturday March 12, at 11:00 a.m. The burial will follow in the family lot at Grandview Cemetery in North Bennington.
