Duncan Moffitt Obituary
The Rev. Thomas Truscott conducted the service. Music was under the direction of organist Randall Krum, who led the congregation in the singing of the hymns “The Old Rugged Cross” and “Amazing Grace.” The Rev. Truscott offered the scripture readings and led the congregation in reciting Psalm 23 in unison.
Committal services with full military honors followed the service in Maple Hill Cemetery in Shaftsbury. The color guard members from the American Legion Post 69 in Arlington, under the command of Tom Hayes, included Paul LaFountain, Donald Fisher, Fred Sheldon and John Stark. The flag that draped the veteran’s casket was folded and presented to Mr. Moffitt’s daughter, Elaina, by Fred Sheldon. Taps was sounded by Maurice Rancourt. A time of fellowship and refreshments followed the committal service at Bailey Hall.
Duncan B. Moffitt, of South Road in East Arlington, died Friday, Dec. 24, 2004, at the Vermont Veterans Home in Bennington.
Arrangements were under the care of Hanson-Walbridge Arlington Chapel, Route 7A, Arlington.

My father was a wonderful,loving man.He always went the extra mile to ensure that everyone around him had everything they needed. I can`t imagine our lives without him will ever be as full. We`ll all miss his smile & his sense of humor but,most of all...we`ll always remember and love him.
