Gary Gauthier Obituary

Gary L. Gauthier 1941 - 2009 BENNINGTON Gary L. Gauthier, 67, of Park St., Easthampton, died suddenly Sunday, Jan. 4 ,in the Cooley Dickinson Hospital, Northampton. He was born in Bennington, Vt., Aug. 30, 1941, son Francis and Dorothy Bemis Gauthier. He attended Bennington Schools and graduated from Bennington High School. He was first employed by Holmes Transportation Company coming to Easthampton in 1986. He later served as Dispatcher Supervisor for New Penn of West Springfield. Gary enjoyed his family and grandchildren and vacations at Old Orchard, Maine. He liked doing his yard work, in particular mowing his lawn and raking leaves. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church. Gary leaves his wife Eliane Debacker Gauthier, one son; Christopher Gauthier, and wife Tracy, of Holyoke, one daughter Rebecca Johnson, and husband Stephen of Southampton, one brother; Wayne Gauthier of Utica, N.Y., two sisters Gail Caron and Judy Gauthier both of Bennington, Vt., three grandchildren Emily Johnson, Hunter Johnson and Tessa Gauthier, and several nieces and nephews. FUNERAL NOTICE: Memorial Services will be Thursday, Jan. 8, at 11 a.m. in the MITCHELL FUNERAL HOME, 15 Park Street, Easthampton. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Friends may call at the funeral home from. 9.30am until the time of the service. In lieu flowers gifts in Gary's memory may be given to the Shriner's Childrens Hospital, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA.01104-2396

I was saddened to hear about Gary. Although distances have kept us apart for many years, my memories of Gary's friendly and joyous ways will stay with me forever. He was fun to be around and was always laughing. That is how I remember him. I am sorry for your loss. He was a great guy.
