I was very sorry to hear about Fr. Whalen's death. He was a very good friend to my father, George Schulz, when he was at St. Paul's. The last duty he performed before leaving St. Paul's was to say the Memorial Mass for my dad. He really was not feeling well that day, but he said that he had promised my dad that he would do his eulogy. He was a very special person and he will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his sister and his family.

I heard about John from my mother the other night. I wish that I lived closer so that I could attend his service. I will miss John. Not only is he my cousin, but he is also my Godfather. I can remember when I was little how he always made me laugh and always had "something" in his hand for me! When he did his imatation of Crazy Gogenheim, now that was funny. John always took the time to seek me out and spend time with me. I love you, John and I will miss you.
