Lawrence Burdick

1942-2012 BENNINGTON Mr. Lawrence Burdick, 70 a longtime resident of Pownal and more recently School Street in Bennington died Sunday November 18, 2012 at Centers For Living and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Burdick was born in North Pownal on February 27, 1942, he was the son of Lawrence C. and Ora Jean (Champney) Burdick. He grew up in Pownal attending local schools and was a 1961 graduate of Bennington Catholic High School. He had worked at The Pownal Tannery for 30 years and retired from Chemfab in North Bennington. He enjoyed the out of doors, especially hunting and fishing, he will be remembered for his graet sense of humor. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and American Legion Post 90 in Pownal.

Mr. Burdick leaves his son and daughter in law Jason and Lee Ann Burdick, granddaughter Gabriella all of White Creek, N.Y., fiance Jacqueline Blanchard of Bennington, brothers John Burdick of North Pownal, Leland Burdick of Hoosick, N.Y., Allen Burdick of Petersburgh, Jerry Burdick of Petersburgh and Louie Burdick of Bennington, sisters Mary Campbell of North Pownal, Linda Raetz of South Pownal, Lois Maxon of Pownal, Elaine Schnoop of North Pownal and Marcia Wilson of White Oaks, Fla., his former wife Linda Hunt of White Creek, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a daughter Andrea Lynn and step mother Marion Burdick.

FUNERAL NOTICE: Funeral service will be held on Saturday November 24 at 11 a.m. at the Hanson-Walbridge Shea Funeral Home, friends may call at the funeral home Saturday from 9 to 11 a.m. Private burial will take place in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Pownal.
