Marshall L. Darby

NORTH BENNINGTON -- Marshall L. Darby, age 64, a resident of North Bennington Road, died on Friday morning, Aug. 22, 2003 at his residence following a long illness.

He was born in Lock Haven, Pa. on April 16,1939 and was the son of the late James and Adele (Holt) Darby. He received his education in Lock Haven schools. He served in the Air Force from 1957 until 1959. Mr. Darby has lived in area for many years and was a self-employed woodworker. He loved eagles and collected and sold many eagle statues. He enjoyed fishing and listening to country music.

He is survived by his wife, the former Pam (Willette) Tracy Darby of North Bennington; his sons, Troy Darby of Uncasville, Conn., and Shawn Darby of Hadley, N.Y.; his daughters, Cindy Bushey of Fair Haven, Faith Phillips of Hampton, N.Y., Cher Sun of Winnebago, Neb. and daughter, Ashley Darby of North Bennington; step-sons, Matthew Tracy of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Nathaniel Tracy of Valdosta, Ga.

Mr. Darby is also survived by two brothers, Ray Darby and Bill Darby, both of Lock Haven, Pa. and Jim Darby of San Antonio, Texas and Doug Darby of Fair Haven; his sisters, Ethel Traxler, Lee Loeman, and Carol Fye, all of Lock Haven, Pa., and Viola Miller of Fair Haven. Mr. Darby has 14 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He is predeceased by one brother, Beal Darby and one sister, Cleta Darby.

A celebration of his life will be held on Monday afternoon, Aug. 25, at the Hanson- Walbridge Funeral Home, 213 W. Main St. in Bennington at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Michael Mornealt officiating. Interment will take place at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours scheduled.
