To the Frost family,
My thoughts are with you today. Your dad was a lover of life. He always shared that with anyone he came in contact with. I sang with him, and Scott, Randy, and Gary. You, your brothers and sisters are all a heritage, I have no doubt, he was/is SO proud of. He was someone I will never forget. I will cherish all the memories of him at the hospital, soccer, and so many other places his presence made a difference. Deepest sympathies to you all.

To the Frost Family: Oakley was my (cello) stand-mate in the Union College Orchestra. He drove many miles every week to attend rehearsals in Schenectady. Last week at rehearsal, he was passionate in his playing of Brahms' German Requiem, and was a very accomplished cellist. Everyone in the cello section admires him, and mourns his sudden passing. Having known Oakley for the last 4 years has been a great privilege, he he will be very much missed. His life is an example to be admired.

To the entire Frost family,
My mother, June Carroll and your father were great friends and had a tremendously warm friendship. Often, after work, your dad would give mom a ride home and the two of them, then so young and vital, would sit together and talk about work and life sitting in that wonderful Corvette... sometimes for an hour or more.
Transfixed by the curves and chrome of that Corvette, I was often nearby listening to them and it was a lesson on how two adults talked to each other in a warm, compassionate, good-natured and forthright way that still resonates in my mind.
They respected each other.
The last time, and everytime, that I spoke with your dad, I was reminded again of how "authentic" he was. There was no artifice or pretense about him and he was absolutely fearless in his approach to any topic and to life in general.
He was always insightful, always compassionate, gentle and wise.
After our conversations would end, I would say to myself, "I need/should/want to be more like him."
I can pay no higher compliment than that he reminded me of my own dad.
I will be by on friday, but forgive me if I am unable to speak.
With great love and affection,
Jim Carroll
