Pamela Sands

Pamela A. Sands 1947-2010 BENNINGTON Pamela A. Sands, 62, a resident of Woodford Road, Bennington, died Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Albany Medical Center following a long illness. Born in Connecticut on October 29, 1947, she was the adopted daughter of the late Walter and Flora Downing Hoffman. Pamela received her education in the Hoosick Falls schools. In earlier years she was employed at the Polygraphic Company in North Bennington. Pamela especially loved time spent with her grandchildren. She also enjoyed various crafts and was devoted to her family. She was the lifelong companion of Ralph Quackenbush Jr. of Bennington. Survivors include her four children, Darlene Willette and her husband, David Sr. of Bennington, Wayne Searby and his wife Sherrie of Bennington, Michelle Flanders and her husband David of Rutland and Dane Searby and his wife Jessica of Bennington; fifteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; a sister, Linda Sweener and a brother and sister-in-law, Walt and Stella Hoffman, all of Stephentown, New York; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Pamela was predeceased by a son, Ralph Richard Searby and by a sister, Lois Springer. Graveside committal services will be held Saturday October 2, 2010 at 11 a.m. at White Chapel Cemetery in Bennington.
