Robert Frazier Obituary

Robert Bradley "Bobby" Frazier, 64, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, at his residence on Cummings Street in the Town of Hoosick. He resided there with his wife Carol (Cutler) Frazier.

Born on March 18, 1960, in Cambridge, NY. Bobby was the son of the late Charles L. and Margaret (Bradley) Frazier. He graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School and received his bachelor's degree from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. Bobby, as a Civil Engineer, was first employed with New York State Department of Transportation in Poughkeepsie New York Region 9 (1982-1984), then transferred to the New York State Thruway Department where he became Director of the Bureau of Highway Design until his retirement several years ago.

More than anything Bobby enjoyed life! He was the most caring, honest, loving and forgiving person you will ever meet. He loved his family and friends so very much.

He was an active member of the community, including memberships with the Eagles Club, Lions Club and the Bennington Elks Club. He was Past Exalted Ruler of the former Hoosick Falls Elks Club and a lifetime member of the St. Stanislaw (Polish) Hall. After 50 years he recently announced his retirement from the Hoosick Falls Community Band as a percussionist.

Bobby was active within the Boy Scouts, both as a child and an adult. He obtained the rank of Eagle Scout and was a leader for 10 years. He coached little league and youth basketball and was well known for his musical talent and was a bass player for Squash in his younger years and most recently with Good Question. He loved to express his singing talent many times through karaoke.

He was an avid sports fan, cheering for his teams: Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco Giants, Milwaukee Bucks, and New York Islanders.

Survivors include his wife Carol (Cutler) Frazier, his sons Major Adam Frazier of the US Marine Corp. of Hampstead, NC; Nicholas Frazier of Bennington, VT; and stepsons Nicholas Tetreault of Rexford, NY; Kevin Gorman of Austin, TX; and Jay Crucetti (Matt Avery) of Albany, NY. His siblings include Marilynne Johnson (Lewis) of Richmond, VT; Charles L. Frazier of Huntington, VT; and William Frazier (Joann) of Mechanicville, NY. He also had 3 step-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He loved them all.

Relatives and friends may call at the Mahar Funeral, 43 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY on Monday, December 30th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm. A Mass of Christian burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church at 67 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY on Tuesday, December 31st at 10:00am. Burial will immediately follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. Following the funeral service, a celebration of life will be held at the Polish Hall, 12 Mechanic Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. All are welcome to come celebrate a life well lived and share their stories and memories of a great man and friend.

Memorial contributions may be made to either the Charles and Margaret Frazier Scholarship Fund or the Town of Hoosick Rescue Squad.

"And years down the road when we all have a touch of grey, we listen to those old tapes and say, 'well what the hey.' So we go back downstairs, and blow off all the dust, cause you know my friends, good old rock and roll, it never dies.

Bob was a truly authentic person, not a false air about him. He was a model for the sons he loved so deeply and to all the boys like my son who were privileged to know him through Scouts or baseball. He was a model to me of what a complete father is like. While quiet and unassuming, Bob was wildly fun and funny. I only wish I knew him longer!

Bob was a true gem. He was a long
term friend and co-worker. I have
and hold dear our conversations
regarding our mutual loves. The NFL
& Music. I am so thankful to have known him for so long. I will miss him dearly.

God bless and hold The "Frazier Family" close during these painful times of loss of a wonderful human being, husband, father, and grandfather.

Carol, I have no words upon learning of Bobby's passing. The last time I saw him was at our 45th high school reunion, last July, and singing Karaoke at the SandBar. What fun!!! The world, and our little town of Hoosick Falls, is at a loss with him gone, however, he will never be forgotten. Sending hugs to you and your family at this time.
