Ruth Dunham Clark

1933 - 2022

Ruth Dunham Clark, 88, of Greenville, SC died on March 28, 2022. Born in Bennington, VT on December 24, 1933, she was the sixth child of Jesse and Hazel (Rockwood) Dunham, and grew up in North Bennington. She graduated from North Bennington High School in 1951 and received an associate's degree from Vermont Junior College in Montpelier, VT in 1953.

Ruth married Gordon F. Clark, also of North Bennington, and traveled with him raising their family during his 21 year career in the US Army. When they returned to North Bennington, she worked in accounting and bookkeeping at Green Mt. Furniture Company, as a teller at First Vt. Bank and in the United Way organization. In later years, Ruth and Gordon moved to Plant City, FL and then to Greenville, SC and spent their summers at Hedges Lake, Cambridge, NY.

Ruth is survived by her husband, three daughters and families: Joni and her husband Arlen Leiker, and children Jessica Holste (Chris) and Karlton Leiker (Quinlee), and great grandsons Jackson Leiker and Tyson Leiker; Bonita and her husband Mark Wagner, and children Griffen Wagner and Rileigh Wagner; and Leslie and her partner Susan Romeo.

A private family gathering will be planned for later in the summer.
