Sharon Mattison

1963 - 2018

Sharon Mattison, 55, a resident of Warm Brook Road passed away suddenly May 31, 2018 at her home. Sharon was born in Brattleboro, VT on February 10, 1963 the daughter of James and Gloria Cavanagh. She attended school in Old Saybrook, CT and Arlington, receiving her Associate Degree from Nasson Business School in Maine. Sharon loved her home and family. She enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting and a love for the outdoors. Sharon loved all animals, domestic and wild. She rescued and cared for a variety of them. She was a kindred spirit to many lost souls. She loved listening to classic rock, old country and blue grass. She especially loved the Grateful Dead. Sharon is survived by her husband Timothy Mattison of Arlington whom she married July 24, 1993 in West Arlington, and children: David Selleck and his wife Ashley of Middlebury, VT, Ryan Mattison and her fiance Steve of Poultney, Kimberly Smith and her fiance Travis of Sandgate. She is also survived by her parents, Gene and Gloria Lauzon of Bennington, brothers, Philip Cavanagh and his wife Ginger and John Cavanagh of Cleveland, TN, Anthony Lauzon and his partner Neil of Burlington, VT, sisters Michelle Cavanagh of Grafton, VT, Allison Cavanagh of Bennington, Tracy Cartwright and her husband Josh of Cleveland, TN and Jennifer Cobb of Port St. John, FL and grandchildren Hannah, Madison, William, Clara and Jensen. She was preceded in death by her father James E. Cavanagh, brother James J. Cavanagh and sister and brother-in-law Danielle and Mike O'Brien. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held Thursday June 7 at 3pm at Hanson-Walbridge & Shea Funeral Home Arlington Chapel Route 7A Arlington, VT. A time of visitation will be held one hour prior to the service from 2-3pm.
