John Jordan Sr. Obituary
He was born on June 1, 1934, in Grady, Arkansas, the son of John James and Lillie Mae (Patterson) Jordan. On May 25, 1954, John married the love of his life, Della E. Robinson, in Greenville, Mississippi. Together they were blessed with four children and shared a loving marriage until Della's passing just two short months ago.
John worked for the Santa Fe Railroad and retired on June 1, 1996. Following retirement, he and Della moved to Edwards, Missouri, where John continued doing what he loved working as a mechanic, riding his Gator, and spending time outdoors. He never could pass up a swap meet.
John never met a stranger. He had a deep love for music and dancing and was known for his kind heart, generous spirit, and unconditional love. His family was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Della; his parents; his brother, James Jordan; and three sisters, Helen Vann, Mary Aaron, and Glenda Lawhon.
He is survived by his four children: John W. Jordan, Jr. and his wife Barbara of Gravois Mills, Missouri; Richard Frank Jordan of Bolivar, Missouri; JoAnn Jordan and her husband Gary Hensley of Edwards, Missouri; and Timothy Ray Jordan and his wife Kelly of Blue Springs, Missouri. He is also survived by two sisters, Imogene Hudson and Annie Jordan Smith, both of Arkansas; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.
