Robert Carl "Robby" Hughes, Jr., 68, passed away on Jan. 21, 2024. He was born on Sept. 24, 1955, in Benton, to his loving parents, the late Robert Carl Hughes, Sr. and Katie Ann (McFalls) Hughes.
Robby was a dedicated man who worked for over 30 years at Kroger. During his time there, he developed special relationships with his co-workers and regular customers. Known for his warm personality and kind heart, Robby had a unique way of connecting with people and making them feel important.
Robby showed great empathy towards others. He had a remarkable ability to understand their needs and was always willing to lend a helping hand. His compassion extended beyond the workplace; he was actively involved in his community and constantly sought ways to improve the lives of those around him.
When not working or assisting others, Robby enjoyed bowling. His family team called him "Coach." He found joy in spending time at Pleasant Hill Senior Services, where he could engage in friendly competition and bond with fellow members.
Beloved by family and friends alike, Robby leaves behind cherished memories that will forever be treasured. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathy Hughes; daughter Amanda Mills and husband David; son Eric Hughes and wife Leanna; grandchildren Evelyn Mills and Elijah Hughes; brothers Dr. Alan Hughes and wife Laurie and Mark Hughes. Additionally, he leaves behind numerous other relatives and friends who deeply loved him and will forever miss his presence.
To honor the life of Robert Carl "Robby" Hughes Jr., visitation services will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 25, at Smith-Benton Funeral Home, 322 N Market St., in Benton.
Funeral service held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 26, at Parkview United Methodist Church, 514 N Border St., in Benton. Entombment following at Rosemont Cemetery, 1010 Military Road in Benton. 
Robert Carl "Robby" Hughes Jr. touched numerous lives with his kindness and compassion. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of empathy and generosity will continue to inspire and guide those who strive to make a positive difference in their communities.
