Allen J. DelGrande

Allen J. DelGrande 1941 - 2008 SHEFFIELD Allen J. DelGrande, 66, of Concord, N.C., formerly of Sheffield where he had resided for 30 years, died Monday, June 9, 2008, at Fairview Hospital, Great Barrington. He had resided in Concord since 2003. Born in Great Barrington on Oct. 18, 1941, Mary Bonafin DelGrande, and the late Jule DelGrande, he attended local schools, including the former Searles High School. Mr. DelGrande worked as a mason for Sermini Masonry and A.J. Magadini and Sons Masonry. He was a communicant of St. James Catholic Church, Concord, N.C. He enjoyed NASCAR Racing. He leaves his wife, the former Anita Mallory, whom he married Nov. 18, 1973 in Our Lady of the Valley Church. Besides his wife, and his mother, Mary of Sheffield, he leaves two daughters, Suzanne Curtiss of Kannapolis, N.C., and Ann Marie Bray of Great Barrington; a sister, Ann Green of Sheffield, and three grandchildren, Mallory, Mary Jane, and Chelsea. He was predeceased by a sister, Jane DelGrande. FUNERAL NOTICE: Services for Allen J. DelGrande, who died June 9, 2008, will be Saturday, June 14, at 10 a.m. with a Liturgy of Christian Burial at Our Lady of the Valley Church with the Rev. John Lis, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Housatonic. Family will receive friends at a calling hour preceding the funeral at the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME on Saturday from 8:30 to 9:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that expressions of sympathy in Allen's memory may be made to either Our Lady of the Valley Building Fund or to St. James Building Fund, both in care of the BIRCHES-ROY FUNERAL HOME, 33 South St., Great Barrington, MA. 01230.
