Ann Kibbe Obituary

Ann Marie Kibbe, age 65, a lifelong resident of Pittsfield, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 3, 2025, after a long battle with cancer.

Born in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, on February 17, 1960, Ann Marie was the daughter of the late Samuel J. and Louise Farrugo. She was educated in the local schools and was a 1978 graduate of Taconic High School.

She went on to earn her associate's degree in nursing from Berkshire Community College and helped countless people through her work in home healthcare. She started working for the Northern Berkshire VNA and later worked at Ad Lib, supporting individuals to live independently and with dignity.

Ann's competitive spirit led to a great love of board games, card games and puzzles. She was always the first to ask about playing a game, usually an intense game of cards. Ann Marie loved crafting, particularly the paint nights she shared with her daughters.

She loved to cook; Italian was her specialty, perfecting an eggplant parm whose recipe is highly sought after. Over the years, she tended to her bountiful vegetable gardens. Her persistent attitude somehow always coerced her daughters into doing the weeding for her.

Ann Marie was a spunky and feisty woman. She could be a prankster at times but had a true heart of gold. She was a passionate advocate, helping those in need while focusing on women's causes.

Her strength and resilience were second to none. Ann fought valiantly with many battles against cancer and chronic illnesses. Her passion for life and her family kept her spirits high as she courageously faced these challenges.

Ann Marie is survived by her two daughters, Nicole Kibbe (Glen Vaudrin, Jr.) and Hannah Kibbe (Jessica Trinier). Also by her sister Diane Demary (Raymond, Jr.), her many nieces and nephews, including Jamie, Jessica (John), Trai (Alex), Ashlynn, Emma, Noah, Annie, and eight furry grandbabies. She was predeceased by her former husband and friend, Craig, in 2018.

UPDATED SERVICE INFORMATION: Friends are invited to join the Kibbe family at the DERY FUNERAL HOME, 54 Bradford St. Pittsfield on Wednesday, April 16th, for visitation from 4-6. A funeral home prayer service will begin at 6 pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Ann may be made payable to HospiceCare in the Berkshires mailed to the Devanny-Condron Funeral Home at 40 Maplewood Ave., Pittsfield, MA 01201.

The Kibbe family would like to extend their appreciation to the many aides, nurses, and doctors who have cared for and loved Ann throughout her years.

One of the nicest girls I´ve ever met. Her and Sue were great friends and I know the sorrow that abounds. She will be missed but her memory should will be forgotten-such a nice person who lived for others. R I P Ann.

I am so sorry I cannot be in Pittsfield to remember Anne. She was a great friend and I remember the laughter as we worked together as teenagers. She would knock me down when I was up, and lift me up when I was down. She had these great eyes that were lovely and she had a laugh for anything. There was modesty and decency and even after I was long gone from town she wanted to remain friends - tell me about her wonderful daughters and ask about mine. I'll miss you dear friend. Thank you for making my life better. To her family: There can be no great pain in loss without great joy in life. She helped a lot of people. That is a treasure. Keep it close.
